Due to my 10+ years experience as a newborn photographer blended with my experience as a hospital newborn photographer I have decided to change how I conduct my newborn sessions. Sessions have always been natural, relaxed and creative. However, now sessions are held in the comfort of your home especially while mom is still healing!
Babies are best photographed as natural and real as possible. Therefore, unnatural posing or compositions are not used in my photography. The concentration is on pure and natural. I use a combination of lifestyle, studio styled and simple newborn posing to ensure this for my photography. Nothing is forced and baby is always in a safe position. I love using the natural elements of your home and window light is your baby's and my best friend!!
The way I edit baby is also natural and pure. I do not smooth baby's skin to a porcelain finish. Baby's skin will still show pores and wrinkles. What is eliminated is baby acne and skin peel unless my client says not to edit those out.
Baby's due date is used as the booking date, once baby arrives we finalize an actual session date.
-How many photos do I get? Typically, a session yields 25-40 images in the gallery (10-25 for mini sessions).
-What should I have prepared for the session? The 2 main things I need for an at home session is natural light & a warm environment. We will pick a nicely lit room and/or nicely lit window area. Room temp should be tropical warm and I will bring my portable heater to supplement more warmth. Have special blankets, props or memorabilia closeby for me to incorporate into the session.
-What is your refund policy? I will do everything in my experience and abilities to capture a beautiful keepsake for your home. However, photography is a creative art, therefore there are no refunds. Also, your booking fee is non-refundable. This fee holds your date and time, exclusively.
-Are you vaccinated? YES, fully vaccinated! One of my part-time jobs is photographing newborns in the hospital. In order to work in the hospital, ALL employees need to be current on vaccinations. I am current with Flu, MMR, TdaP, HepB and get yearly tested for TB. I STRONGLY believe ALL newborn photographers NEED to be current on all of these - YOUR BABY DEPENDS ON IT!
